The News:
The funeral of the 22 soldiers who died during the combat and air crash incident in Niger State, which happened on August 14, 2023, took place today August 25. The bodies of the slain soldiers were buried at the military cemetery in Abuja.
The funeral ceremony was attended by the wives of the deceased soldiers, family members as well as government functionaries led by the Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru and his counterpart for State, Bello Matawalle as well as the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa.

On Friday, 25 August 2023, the Elections Petitions Tribunal Court sitting in Abuja dismissed the petition filed by Hon. Maclean Uranta, APC Candidate for Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency, in the last election against the nomination and election of the People's Democratic Party candidate, Hon. Abiante.
In a congratulatory message; the Federal Lawmaker, Hon. Abiante wrote:

Also worthy of special appreciation are our constituents who actually came out in their numbers to cast their votes for us which the Tribunal affirmed today in their ruling, this honour and privilege I will never toy with and will do all within our powers to represent you more efficiently and effectively.
