... Decorates George Kelly As Grand Patron.

Class of 1990 of Kalabari National College, Buguma honoured an illustrious product of KNC, Dr George-Kelly D. Alabo, FNIQS, DSSRS, Hon. Commissioner for Works, Rivers State on Sunday, August 20, in Port Harcourt.
A banquet was organised by KANACOL Class "90 Friends Forever wherein the Honourable Commissioner was decorated as the Grand Patron of the group, he was also presented with an Award of Excellence for his milestones in the public service.
Before the decoration and presentation of award, a brief citation about his early life, his academic journey up to his doctorate degree, his achievements in the public service while serving in Niger Delta Development Commission, and currently Rivers State Government, as well as his philanthropic footprints was read by the secretary of the forum.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. George-Kelly expressed gratitude for the honour, he lauded the leadership of KANACOSA at the larger forum and the excos of KANACOL Class "90 Friends Forever.
The Hon. Commissioner maintained that it is nostalgic for him to reunite with his KNC classmates after some decades, however, he admitted relating with some of them on individual basis over the years.
"I must say I am pleased to be with all of you today. For me it is nostalgic meeting some of you after many years. I want to thank God for keeping us alive and making us reunite after about 30 years.
"I sincerely express my deep-seated gratitude for you to have found it important to honour me today, I do not take it for granted. I want to thank our father and leader who has kept KANACOSA at the larger level alive and running. I also want to appreciate the executives of Class "90 for what they have been doing," he added.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Coordinator of the Group, Mr. O'femi O'jimi stated that they decided to honour Dr. George-Kelly because he has been the one providing several kinds of assistance and interventions to members of the group on individual basis and collectively.
"He has been the one hosting people, taking care of people's needs on different levels and he is still not resting. So we felt that God has elevated him to a point that we are very proud of him, the association decided to honour him to show appreciation for what he has done for the school and individuals in this association. I make bold to say that no old boy of KNC has done what he has done for us," he said.
In his speech, the National President of KANACOSA, Capt (NN) Rtd Tam Ambie Barango JP described Dr. George-Kelly as a simple, humble, and tenacious leader.
"What marvels me about him are his simplicity, humility, and tenacity. He is excellent in public speaking, I am extremely proud that he is a product of KANACOL," he stated.
The Principal of Kalabari National College, Buguma, Dr. Alanabo Opuende presented the award to Dr. George-Kelly while Hon. Ogbeye Agborubere gave the vote of thanks.
